Hi welcome to AC1DBVRN Blog. Dude from Car4ca$ living in ZüRiCH. Motivated-PMA-Dedicated and sometimes an a$$h0LE.This will be my spot for some, photos, music, random scenarios, and whatever else.
I had no idea what i was going to be subjected to with this but now i am so shook i can’t even really formulate any coherent thoughts about it. I am probably going to have to replay or rewatch this film over and over again just so i can really soak everything in. Just saying that just sounds wrong like you’re not supposed to play a film!!, that is just so bizarre. I have no idea how Netflix pulled this off, i really want some behind the scenes for this or something because i really want to know how they made this. Netflix are really pushing the boundaries of entertainment and i couldn’t be more impressed. I honestly got emotional just thinking about how far we have gotten as a society with interactive media, and i just find things like this incredibly exciting and inspiring. This is interactive storytelling at its finest. I LOVE stories that tackle subjects matter like this, and i love stories that deal with the nature of reality. I used to love stuff like that back in the day and Bandersnatch really reminded me of how cool all that stuff still is. It really hit me in the feels at times, just because it reminded me of a time in my life when i was filled with curiosity and wonder about the world and everything in it, and so that was nice.
The idea of being able to craft your own story isn’t new, but to be able to do it within a medium like film is definitely something that is new and is something that is making me feel kinda sick because of how crazy of an idea it is, but yet here we are. To be able to be a part of something like this just makes me really happy and hopeful for our future, and it’s things like this that remind me of how beautiful the art of film and interactive media is. This sort of thing has been done on platforms like YouTube many of times, but nothing like this has ever been done before because with YouTube it was simply just a bunch of videos linked together creating a story that presented itself as having different paths, but this is something different. They had to film every potential path and then make it all make sense, i mean how on earth did they do this!!??. This was such an ambitious project for Netflix and for pretty much everyone involved and i can only imagine how much hard work went into making this. I mean this is a really unique form of storytelling that is unravelling right before our eyes, and it is amazing to see!.
This was beyond anything i ever expected and imagined and so i am just incredibly impressed with what i just experienced. I knew i was going to love Bandersnatch before i even started it, but i didn’t think i would go on such a mind-boggling journey filled with so many twists and turns!. I am at a loss for words, but i really just wanted to express my thoughts on Bandersnatch because i am truly falling in love with it right now. I don’t know what to do now, i had plans for today but i don’t know how i am going to be able to focus on anything besides Bandersnatch for the rest of the day. I am just so happy, this truly was beyond anything i could have ever hoped for and i am just really amazed right now. Before you know it Netflix are gonna create a show in which you can actually be a part of, i guess that would just be a virtual reality game right?.
Bandersnatch really got me thinking about the line between video games and films/television because i really do think that that line is becoming more and more blurred with things like the Oculus Rift and now with Netflix’s Bandersnatch, an entity that has proven how far we have gotten with interactive entertainment. There is no way this would have ever been a thing 10 years ago, and so to see something like this so well done really makes me truly excited for the future of not only Netflix but of online entertainment. Where can it go from here?. How far can we take a concept like this and what else can we do with it?. We are a generation of constant change and development, so much has happened in just the past 10 years that it has become the norm for things to move quickly, but i think sometimes we really need to put things into perspective and realise what we have here as a generation. This is revolutionary stuff, and i am so astonished by what we are able to do now. This is the new form of media, this is the future of entertainment, and i am LIVING for it!. I just hope that we don’t lose sight of where we came from and what it was that we once were. I hope that we don’t completely abandon traditional media because there is a beauty to that as well as new media, a beauty that i really see now because of things like Bandersnatch. It really put our technological advancements into perspective as well as how far Netflix has come i mean wow, talk about growth!.
Go and experience the media hybrid that is Bandersnatch if you haven’t already, it is quite the ride.
